The Vaihinger Kreiszeitung (VKZ) is a local newspaper and is based in Vaihingen an der Enz .

The area between Pforzheim and Stuttgart ( Enzkreis and Landkreis Ludwigsburg ) is the field of activity of the local editorial team, which reports on political, cultural and sporting events. The district reform of 1972/73 brought about the dissolution of the district of Vaihingen , without breaking off established connections between the Baden and Württemberg parts of the country.

After various editorial collaborations, a partnership began in 1974 with the Stuttgarter Nachrichten while maintaining the economic independence of the family company. The national part of the newspaper, the coat , is obtained from the Stuttgarter Nachrichten . The local section is designed and produced in Vaihingen.

The local newspaper is also the official journal of the Ludwigsburg and Enz districts. It has been created in an electronic editing system since mid-1996 and printed on an offset four-color rotary press at the Waiblingen printing house.

The VKZ appears in the Rhenish format and has a sold circulation of 6153 copies, a decrease of 25 percent since 1998. The weekly newspaper + Sachsenheim Post is part of the publishing program and the official journal of the city of Vaihingen is integrated into it .

history

In 1829/30 the printer Carl Burkhardt began his publishing career in Vaihingen and founded a newspaper that appeared twice a week ( Grenz-Bote ). The oldest verifiable edition dates from January 1, 1831. There it says: "Again a year has passed and a new one begins when the sprightly border messenger gives his gifts twice a week ..." From this it can be concluded that the newspaper is already Appeared in 1830. In 1848 a competition arises with the Vaihinger Tagblatt . The sheet appears from 1849 under the title Die Landpost . In 1849 Burkhardt called his newspaper the Enz-Bote . In 1852 the publication was discontinued because the economic basis was getting smaller and smaller. The newspaper appears again in 1854, now by DK Keyl. It was initially called The Narrator , and from 1855 The Enz-Bote . The newspaper receives the subtitle Official Journal of the City of Vaihingen . There is a long-term feud with the rural postal service. In 1862 the editor Geo Haid took over the Enz-Bote . In 1891, Haid's heirs sold the printing and publishing house to C. Carle, under whose direction the Enz-Bote grew.

In 1902 the newspaper appeared four times a week, from 1907 on every weekday. In 1919 the print shop owner Adolph Hoerger buys the Enz messenger and the rural mail . But he has to give up after four months. The print shop owner and publisher Wilhelm Wimmershof bought both sheets and merged them into the Enz-Boten in 1922 . The last issue of the Enz-Bote appears on April 7, 1945 .

In 1949 the publisher Wimmershof received a license again; the newspaper can appear again. The structure is mainly carried out by Dr. Wolfgang Wimmershof, son of Wilhelm Wimmershof. In addition to the newspaper, there is a printing press on the market square in Vaihingen, which produces a wide range of publications. In 1966 the Enz-Bote was renamed the Vaihinger Kreiszeitung . The VKZ is printed in Vaihingen until 1971, then at Z-Druck in Sindelfingen. In 1987 the Villinger family from Waiblingen acquired a majority stake. Ottmar Gauß becomes managing director in Vaihingen. In 2005 the Villinger family took over all shares. A special edition is being published to mark its 175th anniversary. Helmut Schürmann has been the managing director in Vaihingen since 2006. Another managing director is Hartmut Villinger.
