Valérie Dayre

Valérie Dayre (born December 15, 1958 in France ) is a French writer . She published her first novel in 1989 under the title Miranda s'en va (Eng. Miranda goes ). Since then Dayre has written numerous books for children and young people, some of which have been translated into German.

Life

Dayre initially worked as a translator. She translated from English into French novels by Stephen R. Donaldson , Winsor McCay and John Marsden, among others .

In 1992 she was awarded the Prix Sorcière for Lili's life . The German translation was awarded the German Youth Literature Prize in 2006 as the winner in the children's book category. Her youth novel Ce cahier est pour toi was shortlisted for the Prix ​​des lycéens allemands in 2015 .

Dayre lives in the French province of Berry .
