Val Sumvitg
The Val Sumvitg ( Surselva in the Swiss canton of Graubünden .
) is a right side valley of the Vorderheintal in thedescription
The V-shaped valley extends over a length of around 10 kilometers from a hollow in the terrain between Piz Miezdi and Piz Tgietschen down to Surrein, a village in the municipality of Sumvitg . The highest point of the valley is around 2000 meters high, Surrein is at an altitude of 900 meters. It is traversed by the Rein da Sumvitg , which is dammed in the upper part to form a lake around 500 meters long. Apart from the hamlets of Portas and Val, there are no towns . In the south, a mule track leads over the Crest la Greina to the Terrihütte and the Greina plateau . The Tenigerbad spa , which is now closed and is first mentioned in a document in 1580, was a tourist attraction . The spa itself is likely to be much older.
The Val Sumvitg is one of the most popular locations in Romance literature.
The Val Sumvitg is accessible by a narrow road. In the lower part, it leads through the 600-meter-long Barschaus tunnel built in 1983 .
