Valentin Marian Ghionea (born April 29, 1984 in Craiova ) is a Romanian handball player .

The 1.97 meter tall, 90 kilogram right back player played as a professional at the clubs HC Minaur Baia Mare (until 2005), Dinamo Baumit Bucuresti (until 2007), SC Szeged (until 2010), UCM Sport Reșița (until 2011), HCM Constanța (until 2012) and since 2012 with Wisła Płock and played with these clubs in the EHF Cup and the EHF Champions League .

At the handball world championship in 2009 he was in the squad for the Romanian men's handball team and was fourth in the tournament's goal thrower list with 58 goals.
