Valentine's Park
The Valentinspark is a public city park and with approx. 12 hectares the largest green area in Unterschleißheim .
description
The Valentinspark is characterized by large open meadow areas with groups of trees and individual deciduous trees. A 7.20 m high "viewing hill" is planted in a star shape with loose groups of trees, which mainly consist of birch trees . The rest of the park area was only slightly modeled and does not show any significant differences in relief. Some paved water-bound paths lead in a curved course through the green area; they also serve as connecting routes between the neighboring residential areas.
In the southern third of the park there is an approximately 5,500 m² man-made lake, the Valentinssee . Leisure facilities include a beach volleyball court , two children's playgrounds for different age groups and a soccer field . The Theatron , an open-air stage with around 80 seats, is used as a venue for open-air concerts .
The Valentinspark serves the population of Unterschleißheim and also the students of the Carl-Orff-Gymnasium located directly to the south as a recreational area .
In the south the green area extends to the street Münchner Ring . The park is bordered by Eschenstraße to the west and northwest , and on the east side it is directly adjacent to the housing estate.
history
The then mayor of Unterschleißheim, Rolf Zeitler , had the idea for the Valentinspark in 1986 . Planning started in 1989. The park was realized in three construction phases and opened on July 22, 2000.
