Rolf Zeitler (born June 27, 1943 in Munich ) is a German politician ( CSU ). From 1989 to 2013 he was First Mayor of Unterschleißheim .

biography

Zeitler was a member of the Unterschleißheim municipal council from 1984 to 1989. In 1985 he was elected third mayor of the municipality. At the same time he worked as a technician at Siemens AG in Munich . In 1986 he proposed the establishment of the Valentinspark , which finally opened in 2000 . He has been a member of the Munich District Assembly since May 7, 1990 .

After the death of First Mayor Hans Bayer ( SPD ) on February 20, 1989, Zeitler won the subsequent election and filled the office full-time. He campaigned vehemently for the town's elevation , which finally took place on December 16, 2000. In addition, from May 6, 1996 to April 30, 2008, he was deputy of the district administrator of the district of Munich , Heiner Janik . Zeitler did not run for mayor election in March 2013 due to age reasons.

On his 70th birthday, the city council honored him with the title of former mayor . On January 18, 2014 Zeitler was also made an honorary citizen of the city of Unterschleißheim. He is the fifth person to be honored accordingly.

Rolf Zeitler and his wife have a son.
