Valgerður Bjarnadóttir

Valgerður Bjarnadóttir (German transcription Valgerdur Bjarnadottir , born January 13, 1950 ) is an Icelandic politician ( Allianz ).

From 2009 to 2016 she was a member of the Icelandic parliament Althing for the constituency of Reykjavík-Nord . She was active in various parliamentary committees, most recently in the Economic and Trade Committee since 2015. Since 2013 she has been a member of the Icelandic delegation to the Conference of Parliamentarians of the Arctic Region. For the early parliamentary election on October 29, 2016 , Valgerður Bjarnadóttir ran for Allianz in the Reykjavík-Süd constituency, in which her party could no longer win seats.

She is the daughter of the former Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson , the sister of the former Minister of Education and Justice Björn Bjarnason and was married to the politician Vilmundur Gylfason , who was briefly Minister of Justice, Religion and Education.
