Graf Arco ( original spelling ) is a brewery in the Lower Bavarian market Eichendorf , district Adldorf . It has existed since 1630. In 2008 the beer output was around 80,000 hl.

history

At the beginning of the 17th century some counts of Arco (originally from the town of Arco in Trentino-South Tyrol ) emigrated to Bavaria . 1812 they inherited the castle Adelsdorf with a brewery with brewing right since 1671. Already nine years later, she inherited the Castle Valley in the town of Valley , also with a brewery and reaching back to 1630 right to brew beer. In 1854 the name of the Counts of Arco on Valley was increased , which is still reflected in the company name.

Arcobräu brews under a similar name (owners and operators are also descendants of the Counts of Arco, the Arco-Zinneberg family ).

Breweries

The Valley Brewery brewed from 1630 to 1994. Another brewery was the Birnbach Castle Brewery, founded in 1673. This was operated as a branch until the 2000s. Other breweries operated by the Counts of Arco-Valley were the Lichtenstern brewery in Nabburg (closed in 1974) and the Schlossbrauerei Oberköllnbach in Postau (closed in 1960).

Today only the brewery in Adldorf is operated, the origins of which go back to 1698. In addition, the Valleyer Schlossbräu was reopened at Schloss Valley in 2017.
