Valter Åhlén (born August 6, 1929 in Hille församling , † October 23, 1988 in Gävle ) was a Swedish ice hockey player .

Career

Valter Åhlén began his career as a hockey player at Gävle Godtemplares IK , for whose professional team he was active in the 1951/52 season and from 1955 to 1958 in Division 1 , the then top Swedish division. With the Gävle GIK he won the Swedish championship title in the 1956/57 season . From 1958 to 1960 he ran for Hammarby IF before ending his career at the age of 31.

International

For Sweden Åhlén took part in the 1957 World Cup, where he won the gold medal with his team. As the best European team, Sweden also became European champions.
