The Valterkulten is a non-iced mountain of witnesses in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In Ahlmannryggen it rises 8 km west-northwest of the Schumacherfjellet on the eastern flank of the Schytt glacier .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named the mountain, mapped it on the basis of aerial photographs and measurements of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (NBSAE, 1949–1952). It is named after Stig Valter Schytt (1919–1985), deputy expedition leader and glaciologist of the research trip.
