The Van Allen Range is a more than 22 km long mountain range in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It is located south of the Skelton Firnfield between the Boomerang Range and the Worcester Range . It includes Escalade Peak , Tate Peak and Mount Marvel .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 2000. It is named after the American astrophysicist James Van Allen (1914-2006), who was one of the organizers of the International Geophysical Year (1957-1958).
