The Worcester Range is a high and around 50 km long mountain range on the Hillary Coast in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises on the west side of the Ross Ice Shelf between the Skelton Glacier and the Mulock Glacier .
It is probably named after the HMS Worcester , a training ship of the Thames Nautical Training College , on which numerous officers of the Royal Navy who took part in the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904) under the direction of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott were trained. The Worcester Range was discovered during this research trip, but is only recorded on map material that was created in the course of the Nimrod Expedition (1907-1909) under the direction of the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton .
