The Tate peak is 1,885 m high and pointed mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Van Allen Range it rises 3 km east of Escalade Peak on the south side of the Skelton Firnfield .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1964 after Lieutenant T. N. Tate of the United States Navy , who was responsible for public relations at McMurdo Station in 1963 .
