The Skelton Firn Field is an extensive firn field of the Skelton Glacier in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . To the west of the Royal Society Range , the round firn field has a diameter of around 60 km and extends over an area of almost 2100 km 2 .
It was explored by the New Zealand crew of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958), who named it after the name of the glacier of the same name. It is named after Reginald Skelton (1872–1965), chief engineer on the British Discovery Expedition (1901–1904).
