Van Nelson
Van Nelson ( Van Arthur Nelson; born November 24, 1945 in Minneapolis ) is a retired American long-distance runner .
In 1967 he won the Pan American Games in Winnipeg over 5000 m and 10,000 m and won silver at the Universiade over both distances.
At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, he came in 29th place over 10,000 m.
In 1967 he became US champion over six miles .
