Vanguardia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As Vanguardia which is Latin American variant of the avant-garde called. This literary current reached the South American continent in the 1920s. Other names are arte nuevo or arte deshumanizado , whereby the latter is not meant in a derogatory way. The Vanguardia is based on the idea of a modernization process that is detaching itself from Europe, including an appeal to autochthonous concerns . It breaks with previous trends and is characterized by new content and spelling. The boundaries of grammar , morphology , semantics and rhythms are deliberately crossed, language is sometimes reinvented, including new words. Fear, temporality, the role of the subject are questioned anew and shocking and sometimes absurd elements appear. The flow is not homogeneous , some representatives differ drastically from each other. Exemplary representatives are Pablo Neruda , Vicente Huidobro , César Vallejo , Jorge Luis Borges and Octavio Paz .

Creacionismo

Creacionismo represents a subspecies of the "Vanguardia" : Here the revolutionary relationship to the environment, to nature and to language is in the foreground. The poet turns away from the mimesis principle , he sees himself as equal to nature instead of imitating it. New, free forms of verse are being developed, and new words are even being invented. The conventional form of writing in lines that are drawn one below the other is also being called into question; the limits of language should be consciously exceeded. Something new should be created across the board from everyday logic and independently of reality. A typical poem is "Minuit" from 1922 by Vicente Huidobro. The work "Trilce" by the Peruvian poet and journalist César Vallejo can be described as creationist .
