The Vanløse Idrætsforening is a Danish football club in Copenhagen district Vanløse .
history
The club, founded in 1921, played in the top Danish league for two years . At the end of the 1975 season, VIF finished 8th. A year later, VIF had to relegate bottom of the table.
successes
1974 was the most successful sporting year in the club's history. VIF was promoted to the 1st division for the first time and won the national cup as a second division team with a 5-2 win over Odense BK .
By winning the cup, VIF was entitled to participate in the European Cup Winners' Cup of the 1974/75 season . There the team was eliminated in the first round with 1: 4 and 0: 4 against Benfica Lisbon .
