Vatche Hovsepian
Vatche Hovsepian ( Armenian Վաչե Հովսեփյան , Vache Hovsepyan ; born September 17, 1925 in Yerevan , † December 1, 1987 ) was an Armenian duduk player.
Hovsepian was one of the most important Armenian duduk players of the 20th century. In addition to the duduk, he also played zurna and clarinet. With Antranik Askarian he played The Feeling Begins in Peter Gabriel's Passion , the soundtrack to Martin Scorsese's film The Last Temptation of Christ, and thus made the instrument known in western countries.
