The Vauxhall Belmont was a car model made by the British manufacturer Vauxhall . It was built from 1985 to 1991 and put the notchback - counterpart for Vauxhall Astra Mk second is through the independent name they wanted to put the car above the Astra and the main competitors. Ford orient, who also with his above the Escort a positioned Ford Orion was very successful on the island.

But since the relationship with the Astra was too obvious - outside of Great Britain both were sold as Opel Kadett anyway - when the model changed in 1991, the decision was made to standardize the names of the models in England as well and to market them as the Vauxhall Astra.
