The Veenstra Peak is a 234 m high mountain peaks near the northwestern end of the island Heard in the southern Indian Ocean . It rises from a mountain ridge that extends northeast to Mount Drygalski .
Scientists from the Australian Division of National Mapping set up a station for trigonometric measurements here as part of an expedition carried out in 1980 . The summit is named after Con Veenstra, the expedition leader.
