Rothenhaus (Wees)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rothenhaus ( Danish : Rødehus ) is a district of the municipality Wees in the Schleswig-Flensburg district .

location

Rothenhaus is on the Glücksburger Chaussee which leads to Glücksburg. From the Glücksburg municipal boundary to the actual town of Glücksburg, it bears the name Flensburger Straße. To the west of Rothenhaus is the edge of the Tremmerup forest . By the way, 750 meters south on Glücksburger Chaussee is Büllemoos, behind which the main town of Wees adjoins.

history

Between 1700 and 1750 the small settlement consisted only of a “ hunter's house ”, which was later used as an inn . In 1777/78 Duke Friedrich Heinrich Wilhelm had the road from Glücksburg in the direction of Wees, which ultimately leads to Flensburg, expanded. At Rothenhaus he had a wooden bridge built over the "Silkevad", a tributary of the Ruhnbek. The brook area can obviously be found on today's maps as part of the Schwennau River . After the parcelling of Meier court in the second half of the 18th century, originated in Rothenhaus several huts , one of which bore the name Kopper field. Later the name Kopperfeld was carried over to all these new Katen.

On a map of the Danish land survey from 1857/58 the place was marked under the name "Rödehus". On the map of the Prussian land survey of 1879 the place was to be found under the name "Rothenhaus" and in parts also under the name "Kopperfeld". In the end, only the entry "Rothenhaus" was recorded on the updated area map from 1926. The entry "Kopperfeld" disappeared on later maps as well. The name Rothenaus prevailed for the entire place. At the end of the 19th century, the Flensburger Kreisbahn was set up, which had a Rothenhaus train station. From Rothenhaus there was a steep incline, which is why the railway line was led in a wide arc to the eastern edge of the forest. The section of this route is still recognizable today, despite the dismantling of the tracks in the 1950s. In 1961 there were 27 residents in the village of Rotenhaus. In 1971, 24 residents lived there. The historically most significant event of the place occurred in 1981. The so-called Pharisee dispute was decided in the tavern “Tante Lene” (or Rothenhaus) . Today the Rothenhaus restaurant apparently no longer exists.
