Veiveriai is a miestelis with 1167 inhabitants (2011) in the district of Prienai , Lithuania . There is a Catholic church (built in 1853), the Antanas-Kučingis Art School , the Tomas-Žilinskas-Gymnasium (elementary school from 1919). In the 19th century, the Veiveriai post office was a stop on the Warsaw - Saint Petersburg route in Tsarist Russia . From 1866 to 1915 there was the Veiveriai teachers' college here. In Veiveriai there was a collective farm in Soviet Lithuania . The town has had its own coat of arms since 2004.
