Vektor is an American thrash / progressive metal band from Tempe , Arizona . The band was formed in 2002 and is under contract with Earache Records .

history

Just one year after the band was founded, the first demo was released, Nucleus , but the band didn't get a record deal. In the following years the band played numerous concerts in Arizona and appeared as the opening act for renowned bands such as Testament , Hirax and Iced Earth . In 2006 the debut album Demolition was released on their own . The second demo, Hunger for Violence, followed a year later .

In March 2009 the band signed a contract with Heavy Artillery Records, which released the second studio album Black Future in November 2009 . In November 2011, the album Outer Isolation , which again contains songs from the Demolition album, was released by Heavy Artillery. In 2013, Vektor switched to the Earache Records label, which re-released the album Outer Isolation as a record. The third studio album Terminal Redux was released on May 6, 2016.

On December 29, 2016, Frank Chin, Erik Nelson and Blake Andersson announced that they were leaving the band on the band's Facebook page. David Disanto remains as the last founding member and main songwriter and has announced that he will continue to run Vektor.

style

Vector's music is usually fast-paced Thrash Metal that also has progressive influences due to the many changes in tempo and rhythm. The songs are usually long. The second studio album, Black Future, contains three songs that are over ten minutes long. The band's main influences include groups like Voivod , Kreator and Watchtower . David Disanto's singing alternates between guttural singing and screaming in falsetto .
