Paolo Roberto
Paolo Roberto (born February 3, 1969 in Upplands Väsby , Stockholm County , Sweden ) is a Swedish former professional boxer , television presenter and actor .
Life
youth
In his early years Roberto said he belonged to a street gang and only became calmer through martial arts . Before he started boxing, he trained Taekwondo and kickboxing .
Boxing career
His professional boxing career began with a win over Laszlo Molnar on December 18, 1993 in Finland . After four wins, he had his first draw in a fight against John Duckworth on November 7, 1994 in London. His first defeat followed on April 27, 1995 against Dusty Miller, also in London. After several victories in middleweight and welterweight he was able to secure his first title with the international title of the World Boxing Council in welterweight on November 16, 2002. He defeated to Raul Eduardo Bejarano on points. With his next fight he also secured the Inter-Continental title of the World Boxing Association . His last fight took place on October 4, 2003. In this he lost his WBO title against Sebastian Andres Lujan by KO in the second round. In total, he won 28 of his 33 professional fights, 13 of them by knockout.
After his boxing career
Roberto became known in Germany through his appearance in Stieg Larsson's novel Verdammnis . He also played himself in the film of the same name . As early as 1997 he appeared in a leading role in the Swedish streetfight film 9 millimeters , which was only released in Germany as a double feature with Im Mond des Jäger .
After an unsuccessful participation in Let's Dance , the Swedish version of Dancing Stars (he and his partner Helena Fransson left in the 4th episode) Roberto appeared in various Swedish television series as a guest star and hosted some game shows .
Roberto is married and has a son (* 2004) and a daughter (* 2007).
