The Hansehalle , also known as Hansehölle , is a multi-purpose hall in the St. Lorenz-Nord district of the Schleswig-Holstein city ​​of Lübeck . The hall has 3200 seats and is right next to the Lohmühle , the venue of VfB Lübeck . The home games of VfL Lübeck-Schwartau (until 2017 playing under the club name VfL Bad Schwartau ) in the 2nd handball league take place in the Hansehalle .

history

In 1993/94 the hall was rebuilt according to plans by the Lübeck architect Ulrich Schünemann and expanded by a third.

The home games of VfL Lübeck-Schwartau take place regularly in the Hansehalle with 5000 m² of usable space . In addition, various boxing matches took place there. a. by Vitali Klitschko (1998), Felix Sturm (2001) and Ruslan Chagayev (2004).

After delays, the hall is to be modernized from summer 2020 for 2.5 million euros .
