Thorbjørn Lausten

Thorbjørn Lausten , also Thorbjörn Lausten , (* 1945 in Sörumsand ) is a Danish light artist .

life and work

Thorbjørn Lausten is an autodidact as an artist . In 1966 he first made a name for himself as a visual artist. During a stay in London from 1968 to 1969 he came into contact with kinetic art and electronic art. His first light work of art "Pointany X" was exhibited in 1972. In 1987 he was appointed guest artist at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. From 1988 to 1989 he was a research fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies at MIT in Boston , where he had his first solo exhibition outside Denmark in 1988. In 1989 he published his book LYS-BILEDE-prjekter about light projects. Since then he has exhibited in many museums in Europe and the USA and created works of art in public spaces.

In 1996 he received the Eckersberg Medal .
