The Velikan Point (English; Bulgarian нос Великан nos Welikan ) is a headland on the southeast coast of Smith Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 12.65 km southwest of Cape Smith , 4.3 km northeast of Sredets Point , 4.15 km southeast of Drinov Peak and forms the southwest side of the entrance to Nikolov Cove .
Bulgarian scientists mapped it in 2009. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2015 after the village of Welikan in southern Bulgaria .
