Veliki Bukovec is a place and a municipality in the Varaždin County in Croatia . In 2011 there were 1,438 inhabitants in the community.
history
The place was founded in the 16th century. From 1643 it was owned by the Drašković family . From 1745 to 1755 Count Josip Kazimir von Drašković built a castle as the center of a small manor district.
The family members left the country in 1945 and returned around 1990.
