Venancio Tanio (also Venancia Tanio ) is a Filipino pool player .

Career

In February 2000 Venancio Tanio drew attention to himself for the first time with ninth place in the Motolite International 9-Ball Championship. In April 2010 he reached the finals of a world championship for the first time at the 8-ball World Cup and was only defeated in the quarter-finals by later world champion Karl Boyes . At the 9-Ball World Cup 2010 Tanio defeated the German Ralf Souquet in the round of 64 , but was eliminated in the round of 32 against Hayato Hijikata . In September 2010 he finished seventeenth at the China Open . In 2011 Tanio was eliminated from the 10-Ball World Cup in the round of 64 and a few weeks later reached the quarter-finals of the 9-Ball World Cup , which he just lost at 10:11 against eventual world champion Yukio Akakariyama .
