history

The American rock band Venice was founded in 1977 by cousins Michael and Kipp Lennon. Michael's brother Mark joined in 1977, Kipp's brother Pat in 1980.

Kipp and Pat Lennon are younger brothers of the Lennon Sisters .

The large Lennon family descends from Munich-based prima ballerina Betty Heinrich, who toured the USA at the beginning of the 20th century. In California, Betty Heinrich married a reporter from Chicago who covered the great 1906 earthquake in San Francisco. The Lennon musicians belong to their grandchildren's generation.

music

The music of the southern California band Venice combines the rock 'n' roll of the bands Aerosmith , The Beach Boys , Eagles , Fleetwood Mac from the 1960s and 70s with the folk singing of Crosby, Stills & Nash , the Eagles, Simon & Garfunkel and James Taylor . In addition, elements of the Jackson Five , Earth, Wind and Fire - Funk, Pop, and a little Craig David -R & B-Soul are integrated. The band has enjoyed great popularity and success in the Netherlands since 1998, with concert halls and venues sold out.
