Vening Meinesz Medal
The Vening Meinesz Medal has been an award for geodesy that has been awarded annually since 1998 . It has been awarded by the European Geosciences Union (EGU) since 2004 , before that by the European Geophysical Society (EGS). It is named after the Dutch geophysicist and geodesist Felix Andries Vening-Meinesz .
It is awarded for outstanding research in geodesy.
It should not be confused with the NWO's Vening Meinesz Prize , which is awarded to outstanding young scientists in the geosciences in the Netherlands.
