European Geosciences Union

The European Geosciences Union ( EGU ) is an interdisciplinary scientific society for researchers working in the geosciences and related fields.

The aim of the EGU is funding

  • of geosciences and
  • the cooperation between the scientists.

The EGU was formed on September 7th, 2002 through the merger of the European Geophysical Society (EGS) and the European Union of Geosciences (EUG).

The Union publishes several scientific journals and was in charge of the introduction of online and open access journals.
