Alfred Wegener Medal
The Alfred Wegener Medal ( English ) is a prize in geosciences from the European Geosciences Union (EGU). It is named after Alfred Wegener . Until 2003 it was awarded by the European Union of Geosciences (EUG), which then became part of the EGU. It is awarded for outstanding achievements in meteorology , oceanography or hydrology .
