Anny Cazenave
Anny Paulette Marguerite Cazenave (born March 3, 1944 in Draveil as Anny Boistay ) is a French geophysicist . She has made a particular contribution to the analysis of satellite data on sea level rise . Accordingly, she is the main author of the sea level section in the fourth and fifth assessment reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Live and act
Anny Cazenave obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Toulouse III in 1975. in geophysics.
Cazenave worked at the Center spatial de Toulouse of the CNES. From 1996 to 2007 she was deputy director at the Laboratoire d'Etudes en Géophysique et Océanographie Spatiales des Center national d'études spatiales (CNES) in Paris . There she headed the department for space geophysics, oceanography and hydrology until 2009. In 2012/13 she was visiting professor for sustainable development at the Collège de France .
Cazenave has been at the International Space Science Institute (ISSI) in Bern since 2013 , where she is (as of 2020) Director of the Department of Earth Sciences .
Cazenave is considered a pioneer of satellite geodesy , in particular she was a leader in the Franco-American TOPEX / Poseidon project. With her strict geophysical models, she was able to contribute significantly to advances in the following research areas: the inner structure of the earth, temporary changes in the earth's gravitational field , distribution of the earth's liquid envelopes, development of the sea level, ice and land masses due to climate change, hydrology of the continents . It was able to show that the rise in sea level after industrialization was caused roughly half by the melting of the ice masses and half by the heat-related expansion of the water, but from around 2008 onwards to a greater extent by the melting of glaciers and polar caps.
According to the Scopus database , Cazenave has an h-index of 58 (as of March 2020).
