Venkatraman Ganesan (born May 21, 1985 in Chennai ) is a German cricketer and currently the captain of the German national team .

Career

In his youth he played for the Tamil Nadu cricket team at the age group level and in the first division of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association . He received his first nomination for the German national team for the tournament of the ICC World Cricket League Division Five 2017 in South Africa . Ganesan played an important role for the German team in the last two games of the tournament and was voted Man of the Game .

He received his next assignment as part of the European qualifying tournament for the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2020 in 2018 in the Netherlands . He made his T20I debut against Belgium on May 11, 2019 at the German team's first Twenty20 International . On this tour he was the captain of the German team.

He plays nationally for the Düsseldorf Blackcaps .
