Vera Pauw (born January 18, 1963 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch soccer coach and former soccer player . From 2004 to 2010 she coached the Dutch national women's team .

Pauw played as a defender for the Dutch clubs SV Brederodes and VV Vreeswijk before becoming the first Dutch woman to play as a professional at CF Modena in Italy. She later returned home and played for Puck Deventer and SV Saestum .

She is the first Dutch woman to pass the coaching license for professional teams and initiated the women's honor division in 2007.

After her active career, she took over the Scottish women's national team in 1998 , which she coached for six years. From 2004 she coached the Dutch team, with which she qualified for the 2009 European Championships in Finland , where she surprisingly reached the semifinals. In March 2010, after differences with the association's management, she announced her resignation as bond coach and was replaced by Roger Reijners in November 2010 . After working for the Russian Federation as Technical Director for women's teams, she was appointed head coach of the Russian women's national team in April 2011 . In this role, she replaced the successful French coach Farid Benstiti just six months later . Pauw coached the South African women's national team from 2014 to 2016 and led them to the 2016 Summer Olympics . In the 2018 season she trained the NWSL participant Houston Dash .

She has been the coach of the Irish national women's football team since September 2019 .
