Vera Schneidbach

Vera Schneidbach (* 1941 in Rostock-Warnemünde ) is a German singer .

biography

Schneidbach grew up on the Mecklenburg Baltic Sea coast. First she became a technical draftsman in a Rostock shipyard and then she took up an engineering degree in the aircraft construction division in Dresden . Discovered by talented father Heinz Quermann , she was finally accepted into the GDR television ensemble . There she had around 100 radio and television appearances by the end of the GDR.

Schneidbach made a name for himself above all with evergreens, folklore and musical melodies. Various guest appearances took her to 31 countries until 1989. While she didn't produce her own hits at home in the GDR , she became a record millionaire in the former Soviet Union. After the fall of the Wall, it was initially quiet about her, today Schneidbach mainly appears with her programs at local events.

Her husband is the Berlin Senate traffic planner Axel Rackow, her nephew is the GZSZ actor Felix von Jascheroff . She is the granddaughter of the Russian Grand Duke Nikolai von Jascheroff from St. Petersburg . During the GDR era, her aristocratic parentage was not mentioned in public.

Schneidbach lives in Berlin-Hohenschönhausen .
