The Association of Austrian Museum and Touristic Railways (ÖMT) is an umbrella organization based in Vienna that represents railway museums , tourist railways and railway enthusiasts' organizations in Austria.

Membership in the professional association of railways makes it possible to raise concerns in the interest representation of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce.

Austrian Railway Culture Prize

The Association of Austrian Museum and Touristic Railways - ÖMT praises the "Austrian Railway Culture Prize" every two years.

The award honors an important and innovative work, project or institution in the field of Austrian museum and tourist railways as well as extraordinary achievements in the field of Austrian railroad history. Projects implemented or in preparation or implementation from the following subject areas:

Securing, maintaining and repairing vehicles and other railway technology
Securing, maintaining and rebuilding infrastructure, i.e. routes and / or railway structures
Research and documentation of the Austrian railway history or parts of it
Integration of the Austrian museum and tourist railways in regional economic development and / or public transport, in particular integrated tourist solutions and projects for the development of rural areas

Effective range

The work of the ÖMT extends not only to the territory of the Republic of Austria, but also to the regions that have been shaped by Austria in terms of technology and transport history.
