The Association of German Associations for Aquarium and Terrarium Studies founded in 1911 e. V. is the oldest and largest association for aquarists and terrarium owners worldwide. It has around 350 associations with around 10,000 members in the Federal Republic of Germany . The place of foundation and seat of the association is Berlin.

The purpose of the association is, among other things:

"Day of the public aquarium" action day

On the 1st Sunday in November, the VDA has been organizing the "Public Aquarium Day" since 2016. On this day, the association and the clubs affiliated with it want to draw attention to the hobby of aquaristics and the proper keeping and care of aquarium animals.
