Association of German Chefs
The German Chefs Association e. V. (VKD) is a professional association and was founded on March 2, 1948. It is based in Frankfurt am Main and goes back to the Association of German Chefs founded in Dresden in 1884 and the International Association of Chefs (IVdK) founded in Frankfurt am Main in 1895. The latter organized the 1st International Culinary Art Exhibition in 1900 and ran the Culinary Art Museum in Frankfurt am Main from 1909 to 1933 .
The VKD is divided into the nine regional associations Berlin-Brandenburg, North, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, West, Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Central Germany. 155 regional branch associations with around 12,000 members belong to these.
