The Association of Catholic Publicists in Austria is a network for media people in Austria . The association is independent and has around 360 members. These are composed of Christians working in the media who belong to one of the churches represented in the World Council of Churches in Austria. It is also open to authors. The association was founded in 1957.
The journalist Gabriele Neuwirth has been chairwoman of the association since 2005. Among others, Otto Schulmeister , Thomas Chorherr and Friedrich Heer belong to the association . Further members are: Rosina Baumgartner , the managing director of the Catholic Family Association of Austria , Gerald Grünberger , the managing director of the Association of Austrian Newspapers , Paul Wuthe, managing director of Kathpress , Hans Winkler, former deputy editor-in-chief of the Kleine Zeitung , Rudolf Mitlöhner , editor-in-chief of Furche .
