Association north-east
The Verbund Nord-Ost or Entwicklungsverbund Nord-Ost is an amalgamation of five universities in Vienna and Lower Austria , i.e. in the north-east of Austria. Its aim is to cooperate in the training of secondary school teachers , i.e. for students from the age of 10. The joint training primarily concerns the teaching post for the lower level of the general secondary school (abbreviated AHS) as well as for the new middle school (abbreviated NMS).
Participating universities
This association was founded in 2016 and includes the following universities:
- University of Vienna
- Church University of Education Vienna / Krems
- Lower Austria University of Education (in Baden, Hollabrunn and Melk)
- University of Education Vienna
- University of Agricultural and Environmental Education (in Vienna)
Four regional development associations
A total of four regional development associations have been set up in Austria for teacher training in accordance with the new teacher training program. In addition to the North-East Association, there is the
- Verbund Mitte, or “Cluster Mitte” development association (Upper Austria and Salzburg, including the University of Mozarteum Salzburg )
- Verbund Süd-Ost (Styria, Carinthia and Burgenland)
- Association of Teacher Education West (Tyrol and Vorarlberg, including the Mozarteum University Salzburg)
