The Lower Austria Pedagogical University (ab. PH NÖ ) was created on October 1, 2007 from a merger of two educational institutions. The Pedagogical Institute (PI) of the federal government for Lower Austria , which is responsible for further training, was merged with the departments for: general compulsory schools (APS), general higher schools (AHS), vocational middle and higher schools (BBS), vocational schools (BS) and the Federal Pedagogical Academy (PA) responsible for training in Lower Austria . The PH NÖ works in the North-East association with other universities in Vienna and Lower Austria.

Concerns and research activities

As the "central educational and research institution of Lower Austria for people of all ideological groups and cultures interested in education, upbringing and teaching, the Lower Austria University of Education would like to be a place of encounter, exchange of information and brainstorming, and to discuss essential questions of education in dialogue with different social groups " .

Since 2007 the university has published the series "Pedagogy for Lower Austria". In addition, the open online journal R & E-SOURCE published at PHnoe publishes scientific articles on occupational educational research.
