Verdandi
Verdandi (Verðandi, Werdandi; Nordic for becoming ) is next to Skuld and Urd one of the three Norns , the goddesses of fate in Norse mythology . In this trinity it represents the present. Verdandi is mentioned in the Song Edda in the first song of the gods Völuspá , in the Snorra Edda she appears in the 15th chapter of Gylfaginning .
In other media
In the manga series Oh! My Goddess by Kōsuke Fujishima appears in Verðandi as a character. Due to the transliteration of old Nordic into Japanese, Verðandi bears the name Berudandī ( Katakanaベ ル ダ ン デ ィ). This in turn became "Belldandy" internationally.
