Honored Technician of the People
The honorary title of Honored Technician of the People was a state award of the GDR . The honorary title was donated on November 8, 1951 and awarded for the first time in 1952. It was given to workers who had excelled in the field of technology. Up to 50 awards could be made each year. The honorary title included a medal, a certificate and a bonus.
On the obverse, the medal shows a compass over two bay leaves and an angle between two ears of wheat, above the words “Honored Technician of the People”. The reverse shows the dove of peace and the inscription "Peace and Prosperity from Your Own Power". The medal clip is striped black, red and gold.
