Verena Rehm

Verena Carmen Rehm (born May 14, 1984 in Neuburg an der Donau ) is a German singer , songwriter and producer who became known primarily as part of the dance formation Groove Coverage and in their videos for God Is a Girl , The End and Tell Me was seen; She has also been composing and producing the songs for Groove Coverage for years. She is also a copywriter and producer for DJane Housekat and Rameez , in whose music videos she also appears.

Life

Childhood and youth

Rehm took singing lessons at a young age, played the piano and attended a high school with a focus on music for eight years. She gained her first stage experience with the cover band Querbeet . After four years as the band's lead singer , they parted ways.

Breakthrough with Groove Coverage

In 2001 the producers Axel Konrad and Ole Wierk became aware of Rehm for the dance formation Groove Coverage. The debut single Moonlight Shadow was successful. Due to the pregnancy of front woman Melanie Münch , Verena Rehm , who until then had only been employed as a background singer , took on the lead role in the music videos for God Is a Girl and The End in 2002 . Rehm can mainly be heard in the background on Groove Coverage albums, exceptions are songs like Rock from the album 21st Century or Lullaby for Love from the album Covergirl . Rehm can be seen on the CD covers of the singles God is a Girl and The End as well as the first album Covergirl . The band sold over 13 million records worldwide.

2012/2013: stage comeback

Rehm has not performed live since 2003. In 2012 she recorded the song My Party with DJane Housekat and Rameez , which landed at number four in the official Media Control Charts, number one in the iTunes charts and number four in the Austrian charts. On May 6, 2012, she celebrated her stage comeback for the first time since retiring from the media in 2003 in the ZDF TV garden . In addition, she performed on June 1st with DJane Housekat in the “Colosseum Theater” in Essen at The Dome 62 .

On January 18, 2013, the single All the Time by DJane Housekat and Rameez was released, in whose text and composition Rehm and her partner Axel Konrad participated. She sings the female vocals in the song and also plays some elements on the piano. Before it was released, the song made it to number 19 in the top 100 of the German DJ playlist.

On November 8th, 2013 the single Don't u Feel Alright by DJane Housekat was released, in which Rehm sings the female parts again. The song is a cover version of Liquido's title Narcotic . Rehm can also be seen in the accompanying music video.

2014

On January 31, 2014, Groove Coverage's single Tell Me was released . Rehm can be heard as the second voice on the title and plays a supporting role in the band's music video.

On July 1, 2014, Rameez released the song Girlz in Luv in the USA , to which Rehm contributed her voice.

2016

On June 22, 2016, Rameez officially released his new single Hello Summer , the lead vocals of which were again contributed by Rehm. It is the rapper's first single without a music video; the track is only available as an MP3 download.
