Process mechanics are predominantly active in the metal , glass processing and plastics industries or are employed in the stone and earth industry. There, the process mechanics take on the monitoring, control, maintenance and operation of machines and machine groups that process raw materials. The profession can be learned with the help of a three-year training course.

One of the key tasks of a process mechanic counts taxes and operating machinery of process engineering . Depending on the manufactured product, there are different possible uses. The machines are mainly controlled with the help of EDP .
