The Verige Bridge is a planned bridge in Montenegro over the Verige Canal , a strait in the Bay of Kotor . The bridge will replace a ferry connection and become part of the Adriatic coastal road and the planned Herceg Novi – Ulcinj expressway .
The planning was completed in 2007 and construction can begin as soon as the appropriate financial resources are available. The construction costs are estimated at around 40 million euros.
Since the Bay of Kotor World Heritage is attributed, had the UNESCO concerns about the construction of the bridge.
