Existing establishment

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The establishment of a stand is understood as the creation of a new forest culture through natural regeneration or planting . An outdated term for the form of rejuvenation is in the forestry technical language "operating form" (not to be confused with "operating mode" ).

Part of the establishment of the stand or of the regeneration process is also the form of end use , in which the course is already set for the following generation of the stand. In the case of sustainable forestry , regeneration is already planned at the time of the first final use. Depending on the silvicultural system, the regeneration processes of the forest run very differently.

A distinction is made between the age of cultivation and the age of the plant: When planting, two to fifteen year old young trees are usually planted. The stand age therefore corresponds to the age of the young trees planted and can thus be compared with young stands from natural regeneration. The year in which a stock has the arithmetical age one is the year in which it was founded.
