The Christ Cathedral in the Lithuanian city ​​of Kaišiadorys is the Catholic episcopal church of the Diocese of Kaišiadorys . It is the parish church and the deanery church in the Kaišiadorys deanery .

Bell tower

There are three bells hanging in the bell tower . The oldest, an iron bell from 1665, is no longer activated, but serves as a monument of national importance.

history

With the establishment of the Diocese of Kaišiadorys in 1926, the Christ Church was elevated to the rank of cathedral .

The red, neo-Gothic brick church was completed in 1931 and consecrated in 1936. The six altars, the pulpit , the wooden stalls , the neo-baroque confessionals , the choir stalls and the cathedra were built into the church between 1928 and 1933.
